Peace Corps/ DC

Hey all,

Here’s a quick update: due to snow storms throughout the US, our flight to Nicaragua this morning was canceled and we’re still trying to figure out when we’re getting down to Nicaragua.  In the meantime, we’ve had time to eat at some of the finer Arlington, VA establishments, as well as explore the Museum of Natural History and play in the snow.  I also made an ultimate frisbee friend, who coincidentally, knows someone on Helpful Corn. Tomorrow we’re beginning training with the Panama group that’s also stranded in DC, and we’ll cover topics like safety and security, health, and Spanish!  And now, my life in pictures:

Me and my bags 1.11.11.  This lady had no idea that she would not be departing for Nicaragua any time soon:

Snow on our way to Uncle Julio’s Tex Mex restaurant.  Que sabor!

Kate and I enjoying the Museum of Natural History.

And finalmente, a group of us went out in Arlington tonight

Have an amazing time (once you get down there of course!). Your trip sounds like ours! We had a flight delay in New York and ended up at the airport from 7am until 5pm when we finally took off. That caused us to miss our connection in Tokyo where we had to stay overnight and wait until the next evening to fly out. We ended up only being a day late, but it was still a crazy trip to get there. Hopefully you guys can get out of DC soon!
